Matt, a native to Eastern North Carolina graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelors of Arts in Film Studies and a Bachelors of Science in Business Marketing. Over the last six years Matt has freelanced for seven companies shooting approximately 200 projects, including nearly 150 weddings by 2013 before starting The Good Life Film Company.

WHY START THE GOOD LIFE?

I wanted to create something I would be proud to attach my name to.  Where I could put multiple video types under one brand.  Not just weddings, or not just promotional, but fun lifestyle too, I felt like The Good Life Film Company fit the vibe I was trying to create, lets be happy.

WHAT GETS YOU EXCITED?

Creativity is always exciting to me, any chance to find a fresh perspective on a subject gets me going.  That as well as sunshine, good music, waves, travel & the great outdoors, to name a few.

WHY HAVE THE GOOD LIFE GIVE BACK?

I was introduced to the non-profit world in 2009 after being hired to shoot a feature documentary for Ocean Cure, a non-profit surf school.  I became an instructor for them a couple years later, and I've been doing it ever since.  Through working with them I've directly or indirectly been introduced tothe other three great local organizations we support at The Good Life.  After seeing how these organization change lives for the better it was a no brainer to support these guys.  People helping people, it's powerful stuff!
